The Collector’s Edition was a let down to say the least. All they did was pick a regular widescreen X-MEN THE LAST STAND in the regular DVD CASE and keep it in some nicer packaging and throw in a Amusing BOOK and charge you about $10.00 DOLLARS MORE. You are better off honest getting the regular version and assign yourself about $10.00 DOLLARS. I would reflect if you are putting out a COLLECTOR’S EDITION you would judge it would be a 2 DISC Residence, especially for the heed. I was not Impressed at all!!!!! 1 STAR for a Awful COLLECTOR’S EDITION, 3.5 STARS FOR THE MOVIE.

To set it bluntly, Slow AND DEADER manages to barely rise above that prevailing cinematic sludge of tired, played-out, outrageous budgeted zombie flicks. A 2006 Sci-Fi Channel recent movie (something this film shouldn’t really acquire pride in), this one offers nothing current but tranquil isn’t all that terrible as far as fright features go. It’s certainly gory enough as limbs and other body parts are torn radiant indiscriminately and frequently. Dean Cain, far removed from his LOIS & CLARK glory days and, it seems, also far removed from a 24 Hour Fitness gym, rises above his acting resume and provides a dazzlingly mediocre turn as the show’s undead hero. It’s a excellent thing he brought funnyman Guy Torry with him, who provides wingman duties and those used sidekick jokes. Not to originate a lame zombie pun, but here near the SPOILERS. When a Special Forces combat unit does a recon at a Cambodian residence which has lost contact with headquarters, the soldiers shockingly encounter ravenous, flesh-eating creatures. They grasp the ghouls only to be speedily overwhelmed. The only survivor is Lieutenant Bobby Quinn (Dean Cain), whose body is recovered and is pronounced DOA. However, Quinn revives honest before he’s buzzsawed into for autopsy, to the medic’s casual disbelief. After Quinn uses a scalpel to chop a scorpion out of his forearm and after the forearm subsequently heals itself, Quinn and the medical officers commence to smell something silly (and, no, it’s not the forearm) .

Suffice to say, Quinn very quickly realizes he’s become fragment zombie and is now endowed with superstrength and a healing factor. And, as long as he chomps down on some raw, red meat every now and then, he’s copacetic. Of course, he does composed sport that pasty complexion and composed has a tendency to spew green blood. The rest of the negligible dwelling involves Quinn, a wisecracking military mess cook (Guy Torry), and a feisty bartender honey (Susan Ward) battling the undead as they strive to curtail the spreading zombie infection.

There isn’t one current label here, not one. When the movie doesn’t have its military characters reduced to spouting trite phrases such as “Pause chilly,” it indulges in uninspired B-movie cliches. The special effects and stunts are universally cheesy, the dialogue corny, the acting performances stunning ho-hum (although Susan Ward is very, very nice to search for at) . But, having said all that, Slow AND DEADER isn’t all awful. Lower your expectations - or, realizing that it’s a Dean Cain feature, bear your normal level of expectations - and you’ll be blooming. Impartial halt cool. Viewers will either bask in Torry’s one liners or be irked by them. To me, though, the film’s funniest line isn’t from Torry. It occurs when Quinn almost gobbles down his cute bartender friend and he apologizes by saying, “You know what they say, the fastest design to a man’s heart is thru his stomach.” I give this one two and half rotting and infectious stars.

If you’re a Dean Cain fan or you savor the Sci Fi Saturday night movies you’ll probably like this. What do zombies and scorpions have to do with one another procure out for the first time here. The movie doesn’t seem to capture itself to serious and has a fun tone. If you only like Romero zombies or Fulci zombies or even today’s like a flash inspiring living plain this movie will not be your thing. If you like to mix it up and not have high expectations Unimaginative and Deader will probably surprise you in some spots.

Great shrimp gem of a movie starring the outlaws of country music. A lot of people are comparing this tv movie to that of the unique starring John Wayne, there is no comparison. The modern will always be a classic, and teamed legendary director John Wayne with The Duke.

But, for me it is hard not to like a film that stars Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. They all do a titanic job with their roles, and are backed up by a pretty supporting cast which includes John Schneider and Elizabeth Ashley.

The film follows the same storyline as the current. Will the stagecoach fabricate it safely to it’s destination without meeting its demise at the hands of Geronimo? Will The Ringo Kid gather his revenge against the Plummers? How can I accumulate out what will happen? The simple acknowledge is, engage up Stagecoach, and capture a prance to the west with The Highwaymen.

What a thrill to recognize all the member’s of the Highwaymen together in a movie and playing such memorable roles. I can only imagine the fun they all had while filming this characterize. A must spy for any fan.

Executive Action is about the conspiracy to slay President John F. Kennedy. The title refers to covert organizations euphemism for selected killings. Two ancient actors, Robert Ryan and Burt Lancaster are the fair skim fanatics who determine to steal ‘Executive action” against the President. Both are generous, especially the cynical Ryan. It is their mild “everyone is expendable” iciness that bites to the bone. They have “Done this Before”. To them there is no dissimilarity between eliminating JFK or dispatching a troublesome Third World dictator. These string-pullers calmly keep together a hit team as casually as forming a original finance department. There are two necessary details: 1) there were not 1 but 3 shooters in Dallas that day and 2) the execute of Lee Harvey Oswald is treated as an unplanned afterthought. He was a committed activist who was willing to engage chances with his films if he believed in the message. Its distinct that this was a project that both he and Lancaster felt very deeply about and there’s something gratifying in the fact that both of these very missed actors managed to earn a message movie that actually manages to persuasively argue for its message. Lancaster and Ryan were represenatives of a courage that doesn’t seem to have survived in today’s Hollywood and, whether you agree with them or not, its hard not to respect the body of work they fought so hard to manufacture.

I have to admit that I’ve never been a tremendous believer in conspiracy theories. I’ve never believed there were aliens hidden away in government hangars, never feared the Trialateral Commission, and I’ve always understanding that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Call me a skeptic but I’ve always felt that conspiracy theories design their strength from people being too panicked to gather that on the whole, we’re all at the mercy of random fate. That being said, let me also admit that if any film could convince me to reexamine my disbelief, it would have to be Executive Action.

At this point, I’m clear shapely worthy everyone has seen the movie so I won’t go into the details about why this movie is so fun and rewatchable. Overall, this is a superior blu-ray release as far as bellow. The blu-ray is bare bones, however this release includes the DVD that has all of the extras from the last DVD release(yes, it has Kevin Smith’s and Scott Mosier’s commentary track) .

Now for the terrible. The packaging is unpleasant. The case looks like a normal blu-ray blue plastic case until you consume one of the discs and assure the spaces or holes in the plastic. And the best section? The holes are accurate where the disc is resting in the case, which means if any blunt or absorbing object hits the case, it will go through the thin plasic sleeve mask and the paper mask and wound the disc. I imagine amazon will have a lot of injure returns with this one since they are sending it in a bubble lined envelope (it really needs to be shipped in a box) . My blu-ray veil was punctured in the front and the DVD was slightly damaged by a very visible scratch. Fortunately the disc level-headed played impartial stunning, but now the Road House front mask has a slight hole good on Patrick Swayze’s neck line. Shapely. I won’t be returning it since the same thing will probably happen again (possibly worse) and both of the discs play anyway.

The eco-friendly packaging was a Injurious view. Since I like my discs to have some kind of protection, I’ll be putting the discs in a different case and tossing this eco-friendly junk. They might as well send these in a thin paper sleeve. It’s ridiculous.

Awesome kick butt movie with Mr. Swayzee in attractive fabricate as the ass kicking bouncer. This is a suitable date movie for dicks n chicks as it has something for everyone Esteem IT 10 toes up

I savor dance movies and have the first “Center Stage” on dvd. I wasn’t determined what to demand from the sequel but decided to check it out when it premiered in Oxygen channel. I found myself twisted within the first 10 minutes. Kenny Wormald and Rachele Brooke Smith are sparkling and talented young actors who do a ample job of carrying this movie. Both actors are clearly cast for their dancing and athletic abilities, as well as their edifying looks, and for novice actors, they do a creditable job.

The myth centers around Kate Parker (Smith) and Tommy Anderson (Wormald) . Kate dreams of attending the American Ballet School in NYC but unfortunately doesn’t develop the sever at audition. Tommy - a veteran hockey player turned ballet dancer - gets in. When Tommy spots Kate at the audition, sparks coast. Uncomfortable Kate takes a job at a bar/dance club that is owned by Tommy’s friend and Tommy falls for Kate. Tommy offers to support Kate improve her ballet skills, while Kate helps Tommy improve his “hip/hop-street dance” skills. They hit it off and drop in adore. Conflicts arise when Tommy’s wealthy classmate Suzanne (Sarah Jensen) gets in the blueprint and Kate is torn between her scare of rejection (as she plans to re-audition for ABS) and her dreams of being a ballerina.

If you like dance movies like “Center Stage,” “Step Up” and “Attach the Last Dance,” then this movie is for you. The dancing is more of a blend of the first “Center Stage” and “Step Up” with ballet moves mixed in with hip-hop/street dance. Both leads are very talented and live up to the demands of the complex dance routines. Smith started out as a gymnast and it shows. She is also charming and lights up the mask with her spacious smile and resplendent eyes. Wormald was a back-up dancer for Justin Timberlake and was in the reality series “Dancelife.” With his brown eyes and intense notice, he is definitely swoon-worthy.

Back from the first “Center Stage” are Peter Gallagher (in the same role) and Ethan Stieffel (Cooper Nelson - now an instructor), but don’t put a question to Amanda Schull and Sasha Radensky from the first film. In all honesty, the recent leads are racy enough to bear the legend so I spent minute time regretting their absence. The music blends well with the storyline and the dancing is genuine.

If you’re going in expecting to watch a great made-for-tv movie with ample dancing, blooming and talented leads and an inspiring storyline, then you won’t be disappointed. Consider of it as “Center Stage” meets “Step Up” with a bit of “Flashdance” sprinkled in and you’re all dwelling. For my fragment, I enjoyed it and certainly idea to consume the dvd when it comes out. And if they ever do release the soundtrack, then I’ll be in line to bewitch that, too.

I was a mountainous fan of Kenny’s when I watched the TV reveal on MTV “Dancelife”. He is an good dancer and when I saw him on TV in a movie I had to conclude and study what it was about. When I realized it was a sequel to the movie “Center Stage” I was indignant, but not hopeful for a superb movie, because I had seen his talent and had loved the previous movie. However, I was completely surprised by the quality of the pot and the immense choreography and the dancers. I loved this movie for the superior dancing, not to mention the acting was better then that of the first movie. I felt that Tommy’s character was spirited and talented, also believable in his struggle. I also liked the plan of a ballerina without rich parents, Kate, is intelligent and although you want to slap her into giving more of herself to her dream, she is totally relatable. Everyone has had self doubt and in that you describe to Kate in her goals and dreams. This movie is worth a notice if you indulge in movies about dance, there are some stout ballet scenes as well as estimable hip hop routines. I am going to select this movie as soon as it is available. Two Thumbs Up.

I’ve seen this movie only once, and only a couple of days ago, but details are becoming vaguer and vaguer in my mind. This is never a favorable note. It was watchable, definitely, and it generated a very strong, surreal atmosphere throughout the first half, but it fails to go anywhere terribly intriguing, and gets increasingly tiring, as the film goes along. It’s level-headed worth seeing if you’re a fan of Dario Argento, but if you aren’t there are a helluva lot of others films you need to perceive first.

The film stars Asia Argento as a detective on the track of a serial rapist/murderer, who becomes the victim said criminal shortly after she is succumbs to the Stendhal Syndrome.(i.e. a strong physical reaction to a fraction of art. Fainting is the symptom in her case) There’s not remarkable of a plot-arc here, as after the setup it is fair sort of a portrait of her life, as she takes a turn for the nutty after her experience, and is again victimized by the unruffled at-large killer. Powerful of the early film is quite compelling, as Asia lives in a world somewhere between reality in fantasy, where she walks in and out of paintings, accompanied by Ennio Morricone’s repetitive and haunting rep. However, the more surreal aspects of the film are de-emphasized in the latter portions, and are, sadly, not replaced by increased situation development or action. And, even the effective earlier portions tends to be less effective than his Dario’s best work. My spot with the second half is probably heightened by the fact that I stumbled across what happens at the raze of the film before actually viewing it. However, this is just of most of the Argento films I’ve seen, and none of the others have faultered in the latter portions to nearly the same extent. Beyond this, the hints as to the conclusion of the film are so incredibly blatant that I suspect most viewers will have no inconvenience figuring it out long before the ending, though I certainly couldn’t say for distinct.(I’m also perhaps a bit influenced some of the reviews I’ve read before hand, which said that it started radiant strong but got listless by the second half. But I kinda doubt this effected me too distinguished. There unprejudiced isn’t anything of interest going on in most of the second half of the film.)

Many people have talked about how disturbing the rape-scenes in this film are. Personally I’m not affected by them remarkable. I guess this is because rape is, presumably, most disturbing and painful from a psychological standpoint, and I honest can’t connect that procedure. But, lots of people are scared by them, so judge yourself warned. This is a different sort of thriller than most of Argento’s most celebrated work, so there is less of an emphasis on the fear set-piece. What this comes down to is that there aren’t any really effective dismay or violence related scenes in the film. Most horribly, they spend some absolutely unpleasant computer animation for some gore and other visual effects. If you can’t afford decent CGI, don’t exhaust it, for God’s sake!

The acting is a mixed bag, as usual. Asia is acceptable, if not astounding, other than in the scenes where she is supposed to be ‘tough’ which she can’t pull of at all. The rapist is attractive estimable too, very creepy while calm seeming more or less human. No one else in the film is splendid of particular mention.

As many have said, the DVD does glimpse rather crappy, though it isn’t quite as poor as I’d imagined considering honest how maligned it is.(It’s not far off, however) Aloof, if you’re expecting something like the various Anchor Bay releases of Dario Argento’s films your gonna be in for a foul surprise.

Definitely subpar, but with enough effective aspects to perform it worth checking out, it you’re into this sort of stuff.

Quite unlike anything Dario Argento has directed before, THE STENDHAL SYNDROME is a grimly realistic portrait of a female police officer (Asia Argento, essentially miscast) whose encounters with a sadistic rapist/serial killer (Thomas Kretschmann) have devastating consequences. Though famed by some truly horrific violence, played straight by Argento with few of his trademark stylistic flourishes, the film is distinguished too languid for its bear well-behaved, wasting a lot of considerable time on an otherwise laudable attempt to depict the long-term consequences of a vicious sexual assault on the central character. Furthermore, the harsh subject matter allows no room for levity, and the austere scenario is at odds with the sumptuous artwork that acts as a catalyst for the murderous proceedings. Asia’s convulsive reactions to works of art (hence the ornate title) makes her a target for Kretschmann’s psychopathic killer, allowing Argento to maintain the shroud with paintings, sculptures and resplendent objet d’art, which offsets the film’s possess lack of visual flair.

But there’s a fierce intelligence underpinning the somewhat predictable scenario: When Asia de-emphasizes her femininity in response to the initial attack, only to re-establish her womanhood after a second assault in which she emerges the victor (or does she? ), it becomes easier to forgive the painfully sure surprises which clog up the final quarter. Only one scene recalls the best of Argento’s work: A potential victim being stalked through a dimly lit room elephantine of oversized marble statues, a brilliantly edited sequence which suggests everything and reveals nothing. Overall, “Stendhal” may not be vintage Argento, but it’s too clever and too unsettling to be easily dismissed, and it gets under the skin like no other fright film in current memory. Watch it and gain up your contain mind.

I can’t acquire enough of 3 NINJAS!! Well, actually, I only really loved the first two 3 NINJAS films [3 NINJAS and 3 NINJAS KICK BACK]. The rest of them aren’t as splendid. I haven’t seen either film in quite a while, but I’m waiting for the day when I can go out and purchase them so I can leer them all the time! 3 NINJAS is basically about three brothers who are learning Martial Arts from their grandfather, who is a Martial Arts expert. Their father is an FBI agent, and then their father gets into some sort of effort with some abominable guys and the three brothers slay up helping the father by using their Martial Arts skills to fight the awful guys and obtain them caught by their father! Hilarious movie with some tremendous Martial Arts moves and wonderfully acted by the entire cast. My celebrated character in both movies is Max Elliot Slade — I consider he’s soooo cute! Everyone should eye this movie…it’s one of the best. And 3 NINJAS KICK Relieve is ever better.

Its a suitable movie that kids and adults can savor. The movie is about three brothers, ( Samuel aka rocky. Jeffery aka colt and Michael aka tum tum) whose grandfather is teaching them martial arts during the summer when they go to cease with him. when they arrive succor home for school they accumulate into exertion when a criminal master mind their cop father is after decides to arrive after the boys.

But in “An Inconvenient Truth” he comes across as a different man because he is so passionate and committed to the subject of global warming, he comes across as a different man. Informed, knowledgeable, conversational and persuasive, if he were like this during the election, there would be no Florida Describe in our history books. Okay, so that didn’t happen. But the result is that Gore, grand like Clinton and Carter, are trying to do something with their area to relieve better the world. Gore has long been an environmental advocate and it shows. He knows the facts inside and out; people have provided him with statistics, graphs, charts and more, and he uses them in this presentation.

As Gore states, he has given the lecture more than a thousand times around the globe. Because of this, he is extremely comfortable addressing ample audiences, giving them a lot of scientific research to digest. Remarkably, he makes it easy to understand, pointing out key facts, walking us through some of the more difficult to understand ideas and problems. He also knows when the audience needs a demolish and interjects humor here and there. At one point, he shows a spoof of an educational film fascinating by the people at “The Simpsons”. At others, he makes fun of himself and his political ambitions and woes.

Davis Guggenheim, the filmmaker, has apparently presented Gore’s lecture virtually intact. As Gore moves around on a dais, clicking for the next perambulate, he makes persuasive points. But he also reaches a couple of key points. When this happens, the filmmakers smartly pull succor from the lecture, giving us a portrait of a few key moments in Gore’s life. The argument he makes in his lecture is persuasive, incandescent and well notion out, but because we learn more about the man making the presentation, these points have even more resonance. Not only do these moments give us more details about Gore, they also provide a respite from the scientific data, allowing us to bear what we have learned.

At one point, Gore states that the data is irrefutable and it appears to be. Remarkably, the filmmakers indicate footage of various people attacking Gore, or claiming the data he is presenting is not based in fact. Yet, we can peruse it for ourselves, honest in front of us. And I am clear Gore could easily provide a bibliography of resources for us to check out all of the facts he uses. What would drive some of these people to attack Gore and this data? Some of the clips are from Gore’s days as a Senator and Vice President, so some of that can be contributed to political parties trying to one-up each other. But currently, Gore does not gain political office, yet the unique administration seems intent on giving every crash to the worst polluters in the country, allowing them to produce as considerable money as possible while they pollute and pollute and pollute. Gore shows a sprint about this argument. Apparently, there is the conception great environmental policy will impact the economy. How do these same people define the relationship between Toyota, Honda, Ford and GM? Toyota and Honda effect vehicles with far better gas mileage than their competitors and are distinguished more successful because of it. An argument Gore makes very convincingly.

Thankfully, Gore stays away from political bias. More or less. A couple of times, he makes silly remarks about his failed bustle for the presidency, or he makes a pointed comment about the new administration, but by and titanic his comments are directed at us and what we should do to assign our planet. The film isn’t void of bias, but there could certainly have been a lot more. The fact the filmmaker and Gore showed some restraint makes his presentation even more persuasive.

The film ends with a series of `calls to action’ as the credits launch. Frankly, these aren’t needed because Gore’s arguments are so convincing. But they are effective. As one call to action states “Race everyone you know to eye this film.” Well, folks, that’s what I am doing. Go and seek this film. We need to do something before it is too slow to do anything. Hopefully, this film will one day be viewed as a historical document of the beginning of a colossal change and not as a panic film.

When I was a child, people clapped at the kill of movies — we knew that the filmmakers wouldn’t actually hear us, but we showed our appreciation nonetheless. Over the years, it seems that tradition has died out. I don’t believe I’ve heard anyone clap at the kill of a movie for twenty-odd years. Until, that is, this afternoon.

The entire audience clapped at the raze of “An Inconvenient Truth”.

It is all too rare to study people act out of idealism and ethics. Those qualities shine throughout this film — Al Gore has noticed a scrape — a Grand dilemma — and he has learned about it, and is trying to solve it. The “news” media gives us limited 15-second soundbites instead of news and arguments, believing that we, the American public, are too monotonous to comprehend any non-trivial ideas. Gore, on the other hand, clearly has faith in us to UNDERSTAND, to do the suitable thing, and, above all, to CARE.

See it.

I saw this movie a few months aid on AMC and wondered aloud ‘why’ it had not yet been released on DVD. I saw the movie in a theatre when first released (yes, I’m that outmoded) and down through the years whether, Saturday Night At The Movies, or AMC, each time I scrutinize it again, relish it as worthy as ever.

It is a movie made during the years when Hollywood collected knew how to execute a decent western. I’ve been watching westerns from the 30’s and 40’s on the Western Channel lately, and have reach to hold most of the better ones were made during those years.

Yellow Sky has a titanic feel to it, I read alot on the west, too, and everything in this movie has a touch of realism to it. One of the best parts of the movie is the bolt across the alkalai flats prior to reaching Yellow Sky. They barely produce it. But invent it they do, and instead of being thankful for that alone with stolen bank money in their pockets, their greed returns to try to buy the archaic man and “Mike’s” gold.

But Yellow Sky is considerable more than a movie, it is impartial dull, flat out, well-behaved entertainment. Portion of that comes from the solid cast contributing to the movie, and though it would have been vast to have it shot in color, the starkness of sunless and white adds to the overall affect. As another reviewer says it is as beneficial as Luke Short’s Place WEST, or numerous others such as MY DARLING CLEMENTINE, or Gargantuan IN THE SADDLE.

If you have any interest in the older dim and white westerns you cannot miss this one. And as is proper prior to the later 1950’s, the white hats gain out in this one. No suffering, anti-hero in this movie; not considerable of a legal message here either, other than it is better to be grand, than dreadful. Or pay for a woman’s hat when you appropriate one for your best gal!

Yellow Sky is another in a growing list of mammoth Westerns who are finally receiving their due by being released on DVD. This classic dark and white Western was filmed before Peck’s The Gunfighter, and some of his other grand westerns, such as The Bravados and The Tall Country.

Peck plays the leader of a band of outlaws who happen upon the seemingly deserted ghost town of Yellow Sky. As it turns out,the town does have two citizens, a prospector and his granddaughter. Figuring that the two have a stash of gold, the gang plans to assume the two, until Peck falls for the granddaughter, which pits Peck against his aged gang, now led by Richard Widmark.

The scenes with Peck and the granddaughter, played by Anne Baxter, are helpful. Widmark plays his typical inferior and shady desperado with aplomb, and the rest of the cast, including Harry Morgan and John Russell,

are astronomical.

Check out Yellow Sky if you fancy grand customary B&W westerns. You won’t be disappointed!
