IF you’ve never seen a Mark Forest muscle man movie this might be a good introduction, although I prefer him in “Mole Men Against the Son of Hercules” and “Kindar the Invulnerable.” Forest had the most phenomenal torso of any of the Italian Hercules actors who flooded Rome during the heyday of “Hercules.” Steve Reeves is still the apogee of blazing male beauty but Forest was more massive with enormous pecs, lats and a famously ridged stomach. His face was a work of art and his frequent scenes with actresses were sensuously believable. Forest exuded sex while Reeves was more godlike and remote. Forest was the most popular physique model of the 50s and went on to win Mr. America and Mr. Universe. He later became Mae West’s favorite muscleboy in her Las Vegas act, next to Reg Lewis. When you watch him, nearly naked, in all of his work, it is to be stare in wonder that a man could be so beautifully put together. Everything from his head to his legs and feet are all perfectly portioned. He left Italian movies at the top of his career and went on to become an opera singer and performed all over Europe. Nowadays, he still sings and teaches opera in los Angeles where he is–surprise–a personal trainer to the stars.

Kinda surprised I did not like this one, but whoever made this, put a lot of money into a flop. I think they tried to make a benhur without Christ as the Focal point of repentance, and took the name of Samson but without the great blessings of God in his final deathbed repentance, and thought that many would watch glory to men and false gods of egypt:-). The acting turned out lifeless, with no real entertainment value than if someone had taken some mud and thew them at the gold plated screen. So sad all the money spent to glorify other gods. Give me 10 Commandments or Ben Hur (the new cartoon or the older movie) or The Robe. This movie turned out to be 1/1000th of the value of those movies. Such a sad waste of talent and time :-(.

All in all a good story for the holiday, very funny, and no scary moments for smaller kids. Lots of laughs for the older ones, cute characters, good jokes and sight gags. I reccommend.

My sons ages 3 & 5 absolutely LOVE this video. It is their favorite Halloween video. They watch it every year, over and over as Halloween draws near. They think it is hilarious! The animation is good and the story line is very cute.

Even though Nintendo Power is no longer selling the Pokemon comics anymore, I’m goin’ to love this volume just like you told me. They contain the following:

“Grin To Win!”, featuring Sunflora, the dancing sunflower Pokemon that puts on a good performance with the Solarbeam attack that makes this episode catch on fire! Yow!

“Chikorita’s Big Upset”, where Chikorita is back once again. But this time, he’s no grass-type beauty at all anymore. He’s ready for a big battle with the gigantic robot boss. “Foul Weather Friends”, featuring Hoppip, a grass/flying type pokemon who can judge the weather currents. This episode reminds me of the Weather Channel.

The reason why I’m goin’ to love this ultimate volume is because of the following:

1. The episode “Grin To Win!” reminds me of the episode called “Flower Power”, but has even better battle animations to catch this episode on fire!

2. The episode “Chikorita’s Big Upset” reminds me of when I got really mad when playing a certain type of arcade game.

3. The episode “Foul Weather Friends” reminds me of watching the Weather Channel. All that information is true pokemon fans!

Once again, thank you for your cooperation on what to rank. Good luck to all pokemon trainers out there.

I use to like pokemon. Pokemon is ok but not the best. I would like this if it was in the subtiled version.

Doing a great beginning to a movie is easy. But to make a great ending is the trick. This movie has one of the most poignant and powerful endings in cinema history. I don’t want to spoil it for you. I have been a teacher for a long time and am very impressed by the methods used to help children memorize the sight words. In regard to the parent who states her 5 year old can’t stand to watch it anymore I think it is all in how you present it. With my 4 year old I first previewed the video alone —wanted to know how boring it might be and how I would present it to my son. Once I figured out the format I decided to view the dvd with my son each time and bounced him on my lap and clapped and smiled a lot. He loved the time together and my reactions and therefore liked the dvd. I also put the words on flash cards and gave him a flyswatter to swat the sight words on the table and made a lot of other games with these words. We watch it three times a day and I am careful to watch him for signs of boredom and 99% of the time I watch with him and encourage him. I tried to limit him to two lessons per viewing but he insists on watching at least 4 each time. This is important to me and my son feels that, so it has become important to him. For those of you who have kids who are easily bored and distracted watch the dvd with them and invest the time. After 4 days my son learned all 23 words! As a last ditch effort a little rewarding for viewing and or learning words such as stickers, gummy bears or art activity can help. That being said I do not consider the dvd boring and am pleased with the funny pictures and scenes they create for each word. My son loves it!

Meet the Sight Words 1 begins this delightful, educational DVD series for young children. Ideal for little people ages 15 months to 6 years, Meet the Sight Words 1 helps children learn to read basic words such as “of”, “play”, “it”, “he”, “you”, “in”, “I”, “to”, “have”, “and”, “a”, “said”, “is”, “the”, “for”, and “that” through anthropomorphic graphics that bring the letters to life, followed by a transition to printed text. For example, the word “play” is brought to life with a smiling letter p holding the letter “l” as a baseball bat, while the letter “a” is made up as a baseball glove and a happy letter “y” sits like a game spectator. A charming and helpful tool to help little kids get started on the joy of reading, great for preschool DVD libraries as well as for parents’ homes. 40 minutes.

The upperclass friends and relations of Sir William McCordle (Michael Gambon) arrive at his country house for a weekend of shooting, accompanied by maids, footmen, and valets, all of whom will be staying under one roof. Sir William is a mean-spirited and self-centered old man, married to a much younger, emotionally distant wife (Kristin Scott Thomas), with many family members dependent upon his continuing largesse. The hilariously waspish Countess of Trentham (Maggie Smith), who believes she has a lifetime stipend, arrives with young Mary Maceachran (Kelly MacDonald), who is trying valiantly to become a good lady’s maid. Ivor Novello (Jeremy Northam), a Hollywood star, and Morris Weissman (Bob Balaban), a producer of Charlie Chan movies, are the only guests without aristocratic backgrounds and inherited privilege. The atmosphere of the house, filled with venomous “friends” and relations, soon becomes even more poisonous.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Gosford Park! Click Here

The “below stairs” lives of the servants are also fully revealed, as they share living quarters, eat meals together, tend to the laundry and cooking, and gossip about their employers. The butler Jennings (Alan Bates) and the head housekeeper (Helen Mirren) run the household and try to guarantee that no real-world cares will intrude upon the lives of their employers. Since “upstairs” and “downstairs” occasionally meet very privately at night, secrets abound, many of them secrets of long standing. When Sir William is poisoned and stabbed (”Trust Sir William to be murdered twice”), nearly everyone has a motive for wanting him dead.

For director Robert Altman, the primary focus of the film is on the characters, their way of life, and their values, with the murder mystery secondary. Set in late November, the end of the year 1932, the action takes place when this secure aristocratic lifestyle is also nearing its end, something that the arrival of the newly rich Hollywood characters, Novello and Weissman, illustrates. Dramatic cinematography (by Andrew Dunn) emphasizes the cold and rainy dreariness of the weekend, and suggests parallels with the coldness of the dying aristocracy.

Interior shots reveal the contrasts between the elegant and mannered lives of the “upstairs” characters and the hardworking daily lives of the “downstairs” characters, who adhere to their own rigid social codes. Every detail seems true, and as the characters’ lives and interrelationships are revealed obliquely in brief snippets of seemingly unrelated conversations, a broad picture of the upstairs and downstairs lifestyles gradually emerges. Fully developed, many-leveled, wonderfully acted, often funny, and impeccably directed and filmed, this is a film one can watch again and again with delight. Mary Whipple

Well, strictly speaking he doesn’t of course - Robert Altman never simply tags onto an established genre; he plays with it and makes it his own by turning it upside down. So, while the idea for “Gosford Park” may have been inspired by murder mysteries “Christie style” and by the likes of “Brideshead Revisited” and the BBC series about the Bellamy’s Eaton Square household, we leave familiar territory the moment we enter the estate … through the servants’ entrance; for although large parts of the action take place “upstairs,” it is manifestly told from a “downstairs” perspective.

Academy Award-winningly scripted by Julian Fellowes (himself a descendant of British nobility and therefore able to draw on manifold personal insights in creating the movie’s characters), “Gosford Park” is primarily an examination of the unquestioningly accepted rules of the early 1930s’ British class society: where, beset by primogeniture and a lifestyle often beyond their means, an aristocrat’s daughters and younger sons were compelled to marry rich to maintain their expected standard of living - making a marriage for love much less desirable than one for money, even to a disliked spouse, and a marriage for love almost akin to a crime if not combined with wealth -; where servants were a necessary element of the aristocracy’s life, even if largely treated as non-persons, banished to the basement and not even allowed to speak if not spoken to when called upstairs by virtue of their duties (notwithstanding the almost friendly relationship often existing between members of the two classes outside the public eye); where the perfect servant’s existence was a life so unrealized that it often resulted in an overbearing interest in all aspects of his employer’s life and in a precise emulation of the latter’s prejudices, standards and pecking orders; where nevertheless domestic service was an important finishing school, especially for girls, frequently employed as early as at 12 or 14 years of age; where both “upstairs” and “downstairs” the greatest transgression against social etiquette was the causation of any kind of scene, as *nothing* was to be talked about as if it were truly important - requiring an immediate return to form if a breach of decorum had occurred after all - and where minute behavioral patterns such as a person’s habits in pouring milk for his tea unfailingly exposed him as a member of one particular class, try as he might to associate himself with another. Yet, for all its observations, “Gosford Park” never judges: it takes each of its characters, and the entire unspoken “upstairs-downstairs” class arrangement at face value, leaving it up to its viewers to determine themselves what to make thereof.

The movie is named for the estate of Sir William McCordle (Michael Gambon) and wife Sylvia (Kristin Scott Thomas), who have invited friends and family to that most English of all country sports events - a shooting party. And they have all come: Lady Sylvia’s aunt Constance Trentham (Maggie Smith), her sisters Louisa and Lavinia with husbands Lord Stockbridge and Commander Meredith (Geraldine Somerville, Natasha Wightman, Charles Dance and Tom Hollander), the Nesbitts (James Wilby and Claudie Blakley) and last but not least (real-life) actor Ivor Novello (Jeremy Northam, who also displays his outstanding vocal talent with several of Novello’s songs), along with Hollywood director Morris Wiseman (Bob Balaban), in England for research on a projected “Charlie Chan” movie, and young Henry Denton (Ryan Philippe), whom Wiseman presents as his valet. Yet, while Novello is the hosts’ halfheartedly-tolerated relative, Wiseman and Denton are instantly identified as outsiders: Not only are they American, but Wiseman is Jewish (and thus, implicitly socially suspect), a vegetarian (making him even more suspect for “fussing” over his food) and swears on the telephone; and Denton is quickly branded disingenuous by the servants, particularly Lady Constance’s young maid Mary (Kelly Macdonald) and Lord Stockbridge’s valet Robert Parks (Clive Owen), only to incur even greater wrath both upstairs and downstairs when the full measure of his deception becomes apparent.

Despised by his wife and aristocratic in-laws and also, for reasons of their own, by his own staff, primarily housekeeper Jane Wilson and cook Elizabeth Croft (Helen Mirren and Eileen Atkins), Sir William is found murdered after the second night’s dinner. Enter Inspector Thompson (Stephen Fry) - and the movie’s delicious survey gains another dimension, now also taking on the mystery genre; playing with it in “Charlie Chan” and “Pink Panther” fashion, with inept policemen, matching background music and cliches turned on their head, such as the obligatory assembly of all suspects, which here occurs at the investigation’s beginning, not at its end.

While “Gosford Park”’s many awards are undoubtedly deserved, most fitting of all is its outstanding cast’s SAG ensemble award; as all actors, including the late, great Alan Bates (butler Jennings), Derek Jacobi (Sir William’s valet Probert), Richard E. Grant (first footman George) and Emily Watson (housemaid Elsie, Sir William’s secret paramour and the only person grieving his death) put aside their claims to genuine starring roles in the interest of the ensemble’s achievement. In addition to Robert Altman’s, his son/production designer Stephen’s and Julian Fellowes’s painstaking attention to even the smallest set detail - including a king’s ransom in tapestry and authentic vintage jewelry - and the counsel of several advisors with real-life service experience, all actors thoroughly researched the tenets of their roles; enabling them to respond in supreme fashion to Altman’s preferred style of directing, which favors spontaneity, “mistakes” (often actually a movie’s greatest moments), constantly moving cameras with shifting focus and overlaying, partly ad-libbed conversations over strict adherence to the script. The movie is jam-packed with information, each morsel provided only once; therefore, you not only should but actually must watch it several times to pick up on all the details you will necessarily miss initially. This is not a film for casual viewers, nor for fans of primarily plot-driven stories - but it is strongly recommended to those who appreciate delicate social comment and exquisitely-drawn characters.

Relative newcomer Marlene Dietrich’s electrifying performance in the 1930 sound film THE BLUE ANGEL overshadows the perhaps even greater performance by Emil Jannings as a sexually-repressed professor. Her screen presence also more than overcomes Josef von Sternberg’s rather static direction that was typical of early sound films, elevating this romantic melodrama into its classic status.

Kino’s region-free DVD contains both the German and the English versions of the film, each on a separate disc. Both versions look very clean for a 71-year-old film, although just a tad less sharp than I would have liked. The English version looks a bit cleaner still. The supplements include a side-by-side comparison of the two versions (with the German version shown on the left), and the English version indeed looks better. The German version is supported by optional, white-on-black-bar English subtitles. The black bars, of course, cover up part of the picture. I would suggest Kino use white, black-bordered lettering for subtitles in the future instead.

The German version runs 102 minutes, and has a few scenes that are not shown in the English version due to censorship (such as the moment when Lola rotates her body to reveal her bare back side to her nightclub audience). The English version runs 100 minutes. Although it was supposedly made for English audiences, only Dietrich’s role is all English-speaking, while the other actors speak a combination of both languages — English for important dialogs, German for less important ones.

The included audio commentary on the German disc is a mild disappointment. Although historian Werner Sedendorf’s analytical comments are excellent, he just does not speak often enough. Long stretches of silence are frequent. Kino should have thought of filling the vacancies with additional comments (either by Sedendorf or someone else), especially when a lot of relevant topics are not adequately covered, such as the legendary collaborations between Dietrich and von Sternberg, the details about the censorship practiced on the English version, the period of German Expressionism that inspired directors like von Sternberg, etc.

The DVD does include a generous amount of extra material. There is a wonderful biography section that includes photos and credits of about 30 cast and crew members. There are about 150 photos, some of which are then-and-now comparisons of some of the props and costumes in the movie. There are text screens of the film’s production history. The best extras, unquestionnably, are the 4 film clips of Dietrich’s screen test and concert performances. There is a memorable clip of the 1930 screen test of Dietrich singing “You are the Cream in my Coffee.” There are 2 clips of televised concerts from the 60s and 70s showing Dietrich performing two of the songs in the movie (English renditions of “Falling in Love Again” and “Lola Lola”). There is another TV footage of her singing “You are the Cream in my Coffee” after reminiscing about her 1930 screen test.

The film that turned the head of Adolf Hitler and sky-rocketed Marlena Dietrich to international stardom is as fresh and orginal today as it was when it first hit theaters in Germany 70 years ago.

With the aid of english subtitles, we are introduced to Dr. Immanuel Rath, an esteemed professor of an upper-class German prep school. A stern and authoritative man, his feathers are ruffled severely when he learns some of his students have been neglecting their studies in favor of visiting a night club, the Blue Angel, on the more sordid side of town to hear a beautiful singer named Lola Lola.

When Rath confronts Lola, he becomes smitten with her. An infatuation which will eventually lead to his own professional and personal downfall.

Emil Jannings (the first person ever to win a Best Actor Oscar) is marvelous as the stuffy and destructive Rath, and his ham-handed pirouette into complete emotional and physical breakdown is mesmerizing. Dietrich is equally fundamental in her role as Lola, slowly seducing, not just her fellow characters, but the audience too, with her entralling presence.

Is it any wonder this film lives on?

This is a surprisingly entertaining and inventive zombie tale with strong performances, a campy comic book style to it, and nifty FX. The music used to pad the film isn’t too shabby either. My only complaint was that the zombies were too simplistic. There was no make-up on the actors who played the zombies at all with the exception of bloody, stiched up eyes (which are covered with dark sunglasses most of the time anyway). There are two exceptions to this though. There is one scene where a zombie has a nasty, bloody face, and another one with a big bloody hole in his chest. Also, every now and then for no explained reason, Dr. Bones (who isn’t a zombie) has a nasty scarred face which is pretty impressive.

Bottom line: A good watch.

I’ve always been a big fan on Full Moon pictures for as long as I can remember. The production company tends to like to create side companies to produce films in different particular genres. The Horrible Dr. Bones is under their ‘Alchemy Entertainment’ (Urban Sci-Fi, Fantasy, & Horror) label. I always try to check them out even though I always end up just liking their main ‘Full Moon’ labelled films.

The Horrible Dr. Bones is the story of a voodooish D.J. who wants to take over the world through subliminal messages mixed in music. While all the actors in the film did a great job, the amount of music squeezed into the film really took away from any type of story development. Halfway through the film you feel like you are watching a promo video for the record company (soundtrack is available).

The film itself could have been so much more interesting if they didn’t stock so much music in it. It was interesting to see a horror film geared for the black demographic. There are so few out there (how many films have heavy metal soundtracks with all white teenagers?). I really enjoyed what this could possibly develop into for the genre. Music and horror do compliment each other, so by now targeting an entire new fan base, Alchemy Entertainment hopefully will succeed in recruiting new fans of horror that previously had no interest in it.

The DVD had some technical issues. While the music sounded great and was nice and loud, the vocal track was too low. It was hard to hear the actors. If you turned up the volume to hear it, the next time music was played, it was too overpowering. Also, while not really an issue, the DVD is mislabelled on the disc. A double sided disc, the film is on one side and 45 trailers are on the other (most of Full Moon’s catalogue). When I placed the film in I could only access the trailers, I flipped it over and the film was on the other side. Basically they accidentally reversed the labels.

Overall an interesting film, if only they’d cut back on the push to sell their soundtrack music.

As a lesbian film student of color, I find inspiration in Cheryl Dunye’s vision. “The Watermelon Woman” seamlessly weaves together the issues of race relations, ethnic and lesbian identity construction, and prevailing oppression in all its subtleties. Setting up the film as a pseudo-documentary of an aspiring filmmaker’s research on a Black lesbian actor from the thirties counterpoints a historical context of these issues, with its modern manifestations. An excellent film from a multiple-minority perspective. The acting may call for more training, but the successful execution of the issues excuses the sometimes contrived reading of lines. The portrayal of Guin Turner’s naively ignorant character (a white woman who prefers men and women of African-descent) was well written and played. The film illustrated race relations on many sides of the issue — the relations between people of the same race and cross-racial relations. Funny, as well as socially valuable, “The Watermelon Woman” is one of those rare films that reaffirm my expectations for film: not just as a form of entertainment or art, but as a tool for social commentary.

ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE isn’t golden. Expectations were high after Cate Blanchett’s first foray in 1998 as Elizabeth I, but somehow this follow-up film, with the same director (Shekhar Kapur) and writer (Michael Hirst with assistance from William Nicholson), does not reach those heights. Visually stunning, with an endless array of knockout costumes for Blanchett, special effects and scenery as majestic as any that have been photographed by fine cinematographer Remie Adefarasin and a musical score by Craig Armstrong and AR Rahman - all of these fine attributes cannot cover the weak script and the general lack of character development that hampers the usually exceptional core of actors.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Elizabeth - The Golden Age! Click Here

The portion of Elizabeth’s history covered by the film is the battle with Spain, England being the only country not participating in the Holy War in Europe under the direction of King Philip II of Spain (Jordi Mollà), complete with the surprise decimation of the approaching Spanish Armada due to the heroism and commitment of Elizabeth with her people. The surrounding events include Elizabeth’s dalliance with Sir Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen) and the traumatic (for Elizabeth) beheading of Mary Stuart (Samantha Morton), under the advisement of Elizabeth’s trusted Sir Francis Walsingham (Geoffrey Rush).

Blanchett is a consummate actress and manages to inhabit the persona of Elizabeth as much with her glances and body language and silences as with the meager material from the script. She IS a Queen reborn. The remainder of the cast is adequate though shallow, and while each has very little to say they maintain an atmosphere of Elizabethan England. This is a DVD that could well be watched without the soundtrack and still be entertaining for the visual splendors. It could have been so much more. Grady Harp, February 08

When we last left Elizabeth I (Cate Blanchett), she was young and inexperienced, struggling to come to terms with ruling a country. We now rejoin her in “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” which begins well into her reign; beginning in the year 1585, the film chronicles the growing tension between England and Spain and culminates with a fierce sea battle. It also examines the relationship between Elizabeth and Sir Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen), an adventurous seafarer. What we’re presented with is less of an actual account and more of a dramatic love story, which basically means that it isn’t even close to being historically accurate. But I guess that isn’t a bad thing, considering the film’s more creative aspects–”The Golden Age” is a triumph of set and costume design, and the performances are top notch.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Elizabeth - The Golden Age! Click Here

If only the story were at the same level. It would be too much to say that the plot isn’t interesting; rather, it isn’t interesting enough. Much of the material plays like a run of the mill romance, regardless of the time period. I just know that so much more defined Queen Elizabeth I, and I wish the filmmakers had given her character a little more depth. Not that she’s completely shallow–if anything, quite a lot weighs heavy on her mind, not the least of which is her conniving cousin, Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots (Samantha Morton). Most of their rivalry stems from different religious faiths: Elizabeth is Protestant while Mary is Catholic. Hoping to take control of the throne, Mary conspires to have Elizabeth assassinated. Intercepting on Elizabeth’s behalf is Sir Francis Walsingham (Geoffrey Rush), the Queen’s most trusted advisor.

On Mary’s side is Philip II (Jordi Mollà), King of Spain, who believes that Elizabeth has turned England into a godless country. He intends to conquer the Queen by sending a mighty armada, and the Spanish Inquisition along with it. Elizabeth understands that England’s resources are depleted, as is its money; a counterattack will be much harder to plan and execute. Despite being incredibly strong-willed, something is holding her back, something that’s diminishing her confidence. She seems to rely on Raleigh to soothe her, despite not knowing who he is or where he came from. All we do know is that he’s arrived home from the New World, where he named a colony in honor of the Virgin Queen (Virginia). We’ve seen many films that make the Mysterious Stranger engaging or downright sexy–indeed, Raleigh is dashing, flirtatious, and bold. Just watch the way he presents potatoes and tobacco to Elizabeth.

Hoping to win favor with the Queen, Raleigh gets close to her favorite Lady in Waiting, Bess (Abbie Cornish), and it becomes obvious that his affections are divided between these two women. This plot device could have been much more interesting had it not been so cliché; I’ve seen romantic conflict before, and it’s usually reserved for escapist films. But “The Golden Age” is historical in context. I wanted more focus on the impending Spanish attack, especially since it was so intertwined with Elizabeth’s assassination plot. The final major sequence does feature some battle, but not enough to be satisfying. It’s as if the film fizzles out after spending so much time building itself up. It’s not entirely a letdown, but it is a disappointment. This is especially true of Elizabeth’s pre-battle speech: clad in armor, she rides a horse in front of her army while spewing encouraging sayings. I half expected her to say that the enemy may take their lives, but they’d never take their freedom.

Still, I have to give credit where credit is due. I greatly enjoyed Blanchett’s performance; she gave Elizabeth a determined yet fragile quality that was compelling. I distinctly remember an emotional outburst aimed at the Spanish ambassador: “I too can command the wind, sir!” she screams. “I have a hurricane in me that will strip Spain bare if you dare to try me!” This moment was raw and overwhelming, which was appropriate given her emotional state. I also remember a scene in an astrologist’s lair showing Elizabeth’s desperation. She clearly couldn’t stand not knowing how everything would turn out. It was prophesized that two kingdoms would battle and only one would fall–the Queen would like nothing more than to hear that England will be victorious. Unfortunately, that cannot be guaranteed.

Yes, there is a lot to recommend about “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” and thank goodness that the good outweighs the bad. This is not a perfect film, but it can still get an audience from point A to point B. And it certainly is wonderful to look at; every shot is so richly detailed that you can’t help but admire the work that went into it. The costumes are vivid, colorful, and intricate. The sets are lavish and bold, with practically every location dripping with colorful tapestries. The armada attack features a number of convincing special effects. Basically, everything felt real in terms of the film’s look. The film’s story, on the other hand, wasn’t all that it could have been. There’s a wealth of material on Queen Elizabeth I, and I can’t help but feel that most of it was disregarded to make room for romantic elements. Romance works, but only to a point.
