I was thinking that this half of the series would never win released (like the gijoe sets) but for whatever reason hasbro has allowed rhino to release the rest of this series..it basically comes down to this,portion one of the series was […],second half of the series ROCKED!!!!Unicron shows up,some autobots/decpticons die,the kids aren’t in it as considerable,more violence and fighting less p.c. bullcrap in the second half of the series..so thanks to hasbro and rhino for getting the friendly episodes out there instead of us fans getting stuck with Unbiased the first,crappy,half of the series….

It’s moral, the second half IS better than the first. I definately recommended this DVD place. I really enjoyed this series and it was titanic to examine the character’s development. Very emotional and deep for a kids indicate! It is different from G1, but then again, has some similarities, and can be enjoyed by G1 and non-transformer fans alike.

“Cheers” is an atypical classic television space comedy in that its first season (1982-83) is arguably its best. The point to won the Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: Shelley Long, Directing in a Comedy Series: James Burrows, “Showdown (Allotment 2),” Writing in a Comedy Series: Glen Charles, Les Charles, “Give Me a Ring Sometime,” and even Outstanding Individual Achievement/Graphic Perform and Title Sequences: James Castle, Bruce Bryant. This would interpret why the series, which finished 75th in the Nielsens with a 13.1 rating, survived on NBC’s Thursday night lineup.

Looking benefit on the series as a whole it becomes distinct that one inherent advantage for “Cheers” was that no matter what joke the writers came up with there was the perfect character to lisp it. If you had a sarcastic barb then that went to Carla (Rhea Perlman), a insensible comment would advance out of the mouth of Coach (Crop Colasanto), the arcane bar trivia belonged to Cliff (John Ratzenberger), the caustic non-sequiters and marriage humor was the province of Norm (George Wendt), the shimmering bon mots went to Diane (Shelley Long), and Sam (Ted Danson) played the Lord of the Approach Ons. Equally as primary, the bar where everybody knows your name was an appropriate space for all of these types of humor. As Diane says in the first episode: “Where better than here to glance life in all its facets? People meet in bars, they allotment, they rejoice, they suffer, they near here to be with their have kind.”

But the most famous thing was that “Cheers” made the opposite attract conception work. Televison has a hard time handling romantic comedy. Making it work, like on “Lois & Clark: The Modern Adventures of Superman” is the exception; the rule is Dave and Maddie imploding on “Moonlighting.” But Cheers managed to earn the fable of Sam and Diane with its on again, off again, really off, succor on, never going to happen, then again who knows for several seasons. On the eve of her elopement Diane Chambers comes to Cheers and while sitting on a barstool sees her entire life crumble before her eyes. By the demolish of the night she is a barmaid and although Diane and Sam have nothing in accepted, they are doomed. At the slay of the season when Sam’s brother shows up to sweep Diane off her feet with an invitation to Paris, we know that Sam will finally confess his feelings (”Showdown, Piece 2″), although Diane has to threaten to hurry her fingernails on the chalkboard to find him to pause. Then comes one of the gigantic final clinches of all time.

I always say that I liked “Cheers” before Sam left the display, which confuses people since it was Shelley Long’s Diane who left the demonstrate (but managed to return a few times) . But my point is that the Sam of these early years, and the first season in particular, was a great different character from the show’s second half. There was a pathos to Sam, which disappeared when the mental image of him dancing with Diane when they were frail and grey from her final episode worn away. Sam the womanizer was a joke during those final seasons: but in this first year you can gaze how charming he can be: the point is amply proven when Sam tells Diane where he remembers seeing the same color as he sees in her eyes. There is also an edge to Sam as an ex-baseball player (”Sam at Eleven” and “Endless Lope”) that disappears later on as it becomes one giant joke.

When you survey the complete first season again on DVD you will observe that there is a serious side to “Cheers.” Peruse Coach’s daughter (Allyce Beasley) try to elaborate to her father that she is not ravishing in “The Coach’s Daughter” without crying. Of course that was the episode they showed to honor Cleave Colasanto when he passed away. But there is also the choice episodes that feature snappy appearances (”Sam at Eleven”) and complete episodes (”Seize a Con…Any Con”) focusing on Harry the Hat (Harry Anderson) . Another thing that helps consume the pressure off the Sam-Diane potential romance is the bumbling antagonism between Diane and Carla. This is a constant effect that can pop up at any time during an episode, but sometimes Carla goes out of her device to play with Diane’s mind (”Truth or Consequences,” “Father Knows Last”) .

This is my common season of “Cheers” and I am willing to buy on any and all comers who want to offer rebuttal to my claim that this is the greatest first season for any location comedy in television history. “I Appreciate Lucy,” “The Honeymooners,” “The Dick Van Dyke Indicate,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Prove,” “All in the Family,” “M*A*S*H,” “Seinfeld,” “Friends,” all got a lot better after their inaugural season. None of them started as mountainous as “Cheers” did, and if you want to discuss this over a drink I will have a cola with a couple of cherries in it, please.

If you are Cheers fan, obviously this is a must have. Where else can you earn every episode from the first season in one package? The lack of extras is glum, but the reason I purchased the state and the reason I inspect it is for the display itself.

Sadly, though, the episodes are not presented in their recent order. How hard would it have been to save episodes 1-6 on disk 1, and so on? What’s episode 7, Coach’s Daughter, doing placed as the second selection of disk one? I may not survey every episode in order every single time I belief the disks, but upon my first viewing I would have liked if I could contemplate the episodes in order without switching disks until I completed each disk.

Remakes usually surface like the bubbles in a bathtub, with an expected reeking sensation. However, this remake is rather droll, even though it does not measure up with the fresh. The cast is decent and the legend silly without great greatness to be pondered, which leaves the audience with an delightful cinematic experience that is worth a viewing and several laughs.

In the testosterone pumped remake The Longest Yard, Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler) embodies the mistake of all mistakes in a football career, as he is sent to prison for the theft of his girlfriend’s Bentley.

Paul Crewe destroyed the plucky thought of hard work and dedication that surrounds football some years before the film takes status by shaving points in a football game for personal rep. In disgrace, Crewe has withdrawn from public life while his girlfriend, played by Courteney Cox Arquette, flourishes in exposure. This personal conflict between the two leads the drunken Crewe to retract her car, as she has it reported stolen. The combination of alcohol, lustrous mouthing, and the car theft among other things lands Crewe a lengthy prison term in the Texas penal system. Crewe ends up in Texas due to Warden Hazen (James Cromwell) who has pulled some strings to have Crewe sentenced in his prison, as he wants to accept the Texas penitentiary league.

When Crewe arrives to the prison, he lickety-split learns that both the guards and the inmates do not desire his presence. This is also one of the reasons why he declines to succor the Warden, as the guards are disgusted by his past in the professional league where he was appointed the most famous player. Immediately Crewe sets an example through which he acquires some respect, but it also means that he must assist the warden. He finds himself suggesting that the guards should play a tune-up game against some abominable players, which gives Hazen the thought of a game between the guards and the inmates.

At first, some inmates join up with Crewe, but there is a severe lack of talent among the prisoners and many of them are suspicious about Crewe. Eventually, some talent emerges out of the secret hiding places and offers services to the team. Many join the team to derive a chance to repay the guards for years of humiliation and wound. With the succor of extinct Heisman winner Nate Scarborough (Burt Reynolds) and Caretaker (Chris Rock) Crewe has four weeks to prepare this rowdy bunch into a well-oiled Mean Machine that will be ready to stomp the guards. However, it is not a painless crawl for Crewe and company, as they face worthy adversity from within the prison while the heat begins to form up for a game that is beginning to regain national attention.

Once again, Peter Segal partners up with Adam Sandler with whom he made Enrage Management (2003) and 50 First Dates (2004), but it is not where Segal began his career directing comedies. It is positive that Segal own the skill of delivering decent comedies, yet noteworthy of the humor in the film is unoriginal and recognizable from other films. Despite the formulaic advance, Segal succeeds in creating an challenging opinion that works and offers both humor and drama. Some of the success might be due to that the film staying halt to the new by Robert Aldrich from 1974 with Burt Reynolds. Whatever it is in the film that makes it work, it ends up creating a narrative of trust, unity, and loyalty, which emerges in one of the least likely places in the world - prison.

Thanks to my numerous contacts in the media (okay, I admit, I snuck in), I was able to behold a pre-screening of Adam Sandler’s latest film “The Longest Yard.” The movie is a remake of the 1974 Burt Reynold’s classic of the same name. Adam Sandler plays Paul Crewe, a mature NFL MVP quarterback that was accused of shaving points from a game. He is washed out of the NFL, and we net up with him five years later at a party being hosted by his girlfriend. Crewe gets drunk, steals his girlfriend’s car, and later goes on a high hasten stride with police that results in his arrest.

Enter James Cromwell as Warden Hazen. Hazen is a warden of a Texas prison that sports a semi-professional football team that could utilize the back of the NFL inmate. Hazen pulls some favors and finds himself with the star prisoner, and through the standard means forces Crewe to relieve out his team. Crewe suggests a practice game against a lesser opponent to sharpen the skills of the players and to acquire their confidence up. Warden Hazen then tells Crewe to set together a team of prisoners to bewitch on the guards. During this Crewe befriends Caretaker, played by Chris Rock.

This movie is a snappily sharp popcorn film that is scrumptious for its faith to the unique film, and the unique twists and upgrades this film makes. Sandler plays his character well, he even looks like he beefed up for the share, Chris Rock is substandard mouthed as usual, but the audience begins to empathize with his character. The audience will indulge in the numerous cameos that include Chris Berman for ESPN, Bill Goldberg and Stone Wintry Steve Austin of wrestling lore, and the indefatigable Burt Reynolds, who plays an stale inmate who in a ancient life won the Heisman trophy.

It is essential to label that Reynolds truly does embarass the rest of the cast with his acting ability. In a lot of ways I can’t occupy that I’m actually saying that, but it’s proper. In the first section of the film, we gather veteran to the onscreen presence of Sandler, Rock et al. But once Reynolds walks into the film, we realize objective how awful all the other actors are, despite their above par performances. If you can mild suspend your disbelief with Reynolds on conceal, then you will indulge in this movie.

There were some downpoints to the film. James Cromwell is unprejudiced not believable. There are plenty of sophomoric antics that Sandler has yet to worn from, and there is plenty of tasteless humor about prison sodomy that detracts greatly from the film. Fortunately, the film moves too quick to dwell on such things. This movie is not art, and it is not the drama that the first incarnation was, but it’s a lot more fun.

Being a huge fan of the John Landis fresh I decided to give this movie a chance and sat down with some popcorn and soda and hit “play.” Moments later I was shaking my head and pondering switching to one of my approved television shows.

This movie is a pale imitation of the fresh `American Werewolf in London’ and I imagine that the director of that 1981 classic John Landis was none to gay to be associated with this production (in the credits it refers to using characters from the novel) .

Right from the get-go we can scream though that whereas the unique had a putrid dry journey of humor to it (one of the tracks was `Blue Moon’) this one is instead going to grasp a more slapstick advance.

As the movie begins we join three American friends who are on a round Europe prance taking a series of daredevil stunts. Being obviously hormone driven (they all eye-up a French girl on the vow and discuss how European girls are more sophisticated), I would venture a guess they would feel quite at home in a Farrelly brothers production. Upon arrival in the French capital they sneak onto the Eiffel Tower at night and as one of them prepares to bungee jump off the top some rapidly thinking allows the hapless hero to achieve a girls life.

Left with only the girls shoe the three track down the girl down after which time they search for her deep secret.

This may be some people’s plan of a stout or fun movie. Personally though it was not mine and afterwards I did switch to look Prue, Piper and Phoebe battle demons and warlocks.

I cannot absorb that this movie was made. Honestly, if you’re gonna do a sequal to An American Werewolf in London, acquire Rick Baker and John Landis relieve, not some no-name hacks. Don’t even bother with this movie, and don’t confuse it with it’s far top-notch prequal, An American Werewolf in London

This isn’t just a straight, barebones issuing of the concert on DVD, however. This is a SPECIAL edition 2 disc DVD set, which will also include bonus live footage and the History of Iron Maiden Part 2 documentary, picking up where The Early Years left off.

Disc one contains the recording of this full 90 minute concert. Originally filmed on 35mm, the footage comes alive on DVD resulting in a visually stunning film. The disc also carries two sound options - the original concert audio specially mixed into 5.1 Surround Sound by Kevin Shirley, Maiden’s producer since 1999, plus the original stereo sound track by Martin Birch, the band’s producer from 1981 to 1993.

Disc two has Part 2 of the ‘History of Iron Maiden’, continuing on the Maiden story from “The Early Days” DVD, along with rare and unseen bonus footage in the form of BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN, ROCK IN RIO ‘85, and ‘ELLO TEXAS, all in all giving a total running time of well over three hours.

The multiple audio mixes and new video transfer from the original 35mm elements should make this a fantastic DVD. While this has been a long, long wait for the official DVD release, it looks like it will be well worth it.

Ths Live After Death show itself was fantastic. The band plays with an amazing amount of energy, but also with great musical ability as well. The songs are all classics, and the stage set is one of the best from that era.

(Update: The video quality of the Live After Death concert looks better than either the VHS or LaserDisc versions that I have, and the sound quality is really, really good. The remastered stereo mix is incredibly, “In your face,” and is just a wall of sound. The 5.1 remix? Meh. Kevin Shirley has the guitars too low in the mix. It’s punchy and INCREDIBLY clean, but it lacks the power of the original stereo mix. The extras are really nice. The History Part II documentary has a lot of great info, and is a great continuation of the first part from The Early Days. The 1985 Rock in Rio, however, is a disappointment. Not because of the performance, but because the audio/video quality is so poor. The audio is a bit muddy - originally mastered on video tape it has aged poorly - but the video is the real shame. Herky jerky, jittery and jumpy, the original master tape was not stored properly and now has serious tracking issues. It’s almost like watching Cloverfield. That’s too bad, because the band gives another great performance. The other extras like ‘Ello Texas and the extended version of Behind the Iron Curtain are a nice bonus, and make the set an even greater value than it already is. Overall, I’m very pleased with the set, but it is not without a couple flaws. It’s clearly still a, “Must Have,” DVD.)

Is this recording really 23 years old? Can it be? Has time slipped away that quickly. Some would certainly argue the opposite. In fact, all of us waiting to finally get a picture clean-up and an audio enhancement would probably say that it seems as though the wait has been forever or long overdue at best.

But here it finally is…Live After Death on two DVD disks. Disk one is the classic performance wrap-up of Iron Maiden’s 1984/1985 World Slavery show in Long Beach, CA. This just has got to go into any Maiden fan’s collection. The cleaned-up, full screen picture is better than the VHS, but it still makes you appreciate how much better the technology is today. The audio has been converted to 5:1 and sounds terrific. The Live After Death set list goes:

Disk two includes a lot more time than the DVD jacket suggests. The DVD jacket says that Disk Two runs for 150 minutes, but rest assured that, if you include the photo gallery tour, you get 231 minutes of Maiden stuff that includes:

1) “The History of Iron Maiden Part Two” - This is getting billed as the follow up to the 2004 release of The History Of Iron Maiden - Pt. 1: The Early Days, but don’t expect the same kind of multi-year documentary here with Part 2. To be sure, Part Two is a 60 minute documentary of only the Powerslave, or should I say World Slavery, tour. So if you’re expecting (as I was) that this is another multi-year documentary of Maiden that perhaps takes us into the Janick Gers/Blaze Bayley years, you’d be mistaken.

2) “Behind the Iron Curtain” - Apx an hour in total length, this chapter features some behind the scenes stuff as Maiden made their way through Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Hungary (in 1984 I think). You also get complete live performances of:

“Aces High”

“The Trooper”

“22 Acacia Avenue”

“The Number of the Beast”

“Hallowed Be Thy Name”

“2 Minutes to Midnight”

“Run to the Hills”

3) As if the above weren’t enough, you get another 50 minutes of live footage from Maiden’s 1985 appearance at the Rock in Rio festival. “Scream for me, Brazil!” The picture quality was beyond repair (by today’s standards) for this, but the sound is pretty good.

The good news is that if you wan’t a high quality A/V Rock in Rio performance by Maiden, you’ve got it with 2002’s outstanding Rock In Rio DVD.

- “‘Ello Texas!” - Same songs (3 altogether), different time period. From 1983’s World Piece Tour…’22 Acacia Ave’, ‘Flight of Icaris’ and ‘Iron Maiden’.

How could any Iron Maiden fan pass on this. Simple…a true Iron Maiden fan CANNOT pass on this. I predict that in conjunction with the 2008 Iron Maiden “Somewhere Back in Time” World tour, the boys will record a show and release it on DVD next year with History Part Three. Let’s hope on the next DVD that they switch out some of those classics that we’re so used to hearing for some great tunes like Murders in the Rue Morgue, Where Eagles Dare, Killers, Die With Your Boots On, and so on and so on.

This review is for the Blue Ray collection. Picture: Pristine. Sound: Great. Movies: I & II - Grand Entertainment. Universal successfully resuscitated it’s venerable monster genre and transformed it into bigtime Tentpole event movies and produced two very good action adventure rides to take with the kids. III - Phoned in. Brendan collects huge paycheck and goes home. Rachel wisely stays away in the first place. Kid being groomed to carry on - the poor man’s Shia (and I didn’t think much of him either). Jet Li - stony and morose. Story is flat. Use of China as a backdrop - secondary and poorly executed (nothing new or breathtaking here). This truly is the sin - we’re actually IN China for heaven’s sake and there is no grand vista, no expansive shots to dazzle us with the landscape. In watching the nightclub scenes I kept expecting Kate Capshaw to step out and start singing - it’s that derivative. Everything else is CGI. No overall quality to raise it to the level of the other two. But the kids will like the ride none-the-less…and yet…Worth the upgrade? YES - for the first two alone.

I bought these as a gift for my wife who was a big fan of the first 2 movies. I had never seen them before. I must say I enjoyed all of them quite alot. They’re just fun movies to watch. I was also very impressed with the quality of the blu-ray picture and sound.

With a terrific international cast and excellent effects, this fast-paced thriller about spies infiltrating a German rocket installation is entertaining, and though much of the antics are improbable, especially in the final sequence, it does have a historical context to it. There was an Operation Crossbow, when Winston Churchill (well played by Patrick Wyman) was concerned about what misslies and rockets the Nazis were making.
The V-1 “Buzz Bomb” was a nightmare for those living in London in the summer of ‘44, and perhaps the most gripping part of the film is its depiction of London being hit with these dreaded missiles, with some amazing cinematography by Erwin Hillier.

George Peppard is a smooth spy, and does many scenes speaking German, though he looks 100% American, perhaps because of the hat he wears pushed back on his head, which would have been a givaway had he really been in enemy territory.
Richard Johnson is wonderful as Duncan Sandys, who believes action is imperative and that “in war, decisions almost always have to be made on incomplete knowledge; if you wait until you’re certain, you’re sure to be too late”, and goes against Trevor Howard as Professor Linderman, who is not convinced that the situation is serious, or even exists.
(Duncan Sandys was Churchill’s son-in-law, and not a very popular fellow with the RAF, because he thought the future of air warfare was in missiles and rockets, and not in manned flight).

Other top-notch actors are Sophia Loren looking beautiful, Tom Courtenay, John Mills, Jeremy Kemp, Anthony Quayle, Richard Todd, and Lilli Palmer marvelous as a resistance worker in Holland.
The film has a certain stylish slickness that it probably owes to the popularity of the James Bond films in the early ’60s, and in the Bond tradition has many lovely ladies in all levels of the work force (even as a German engineer/test pilot) and lots and lots of action. A film that almost makes it to 5 stars but just misses the mark, it still makes fine viewing, with some history (though a little jumbled) thrown in for good measure.
Total running time is 115 minutes.

This engrossing war drama places stars George Peppard and John Mills as trained sabatuers in an underground factory where V-1 and V-2 “Buzz-bomb” rockets were being manufactured in Germany during world war II. This gripping drama is as suspensefull as it is realistic. Their mission is to destroy Hitler’s ability to manfacture those terrible incendiary rockets which were terrorizing London during the latter stages of the war. Sophia Loren, thinking her husband already dead, discovers George Peppard impersonating him, and the action accelerates from there. This movie has it all, romance, great suspense and special effects as well as a thrilling climax. Several scenes are in German with English subtitles, and as a high school German teacher, I found this a pleasant addition to the film. This movie has aged well since its release in 1965. Give it a try.

Jason Stevens (Drew Fuller) is a trust fund baby–he’s eaten from a silver spoon his entire life. In a closed conference room with only his grandfather’s trusted attorney (Bill Cobbs) and secretary (Lee Meriwether) in attendance, Jason is advised by Red via a video recording that he’s being given a series of gifts. The obtain? He isn’t told what the gifts are, only that he’s to near at the airport and await further instructions. Is this his grandfather’s originate of a joke, or is Red Stevens trying to approach out and say him things he never learned from his materialistic family?

Based on a novella by eminent motivational speaker and author Jim Stovall, the filmmakers endeavored to keep the heart of his tale while tranquil producing a relevant movie. Says screenwriter Cheryl McKay in an interview conducted by Rene Gutteridge who wrote the novelization of the screenplay, “The biggest challenge was figuring out how to handle all the gifts and not advance off with a movie that felt episodic. We had to blend a couple of them together and de-emphasize a couple of them because twelve is a lot to hide in a two-hour movie.”

Winner of the Heartland Film Festival’s Crystal Heart Award, The Ultimate Gift features an Oscar first-rate cast. Drew Fuller (best known for his recurring role as Chris Halliwell in Charmed) pulls off Jason’s cockiness and inappropriate brat ways, but also believably portrays his transformed self. His facial expressions alone made me laugh out loud a few times. Abigail Breslin (Itsy-bitsy Miss Sunshine, Signs) could easily have over played her character Emily, but she doesn’t, and she wins our hearts in the process. Ali Hillis (Must Treasure Dogs) is another significant cast member as Jason’s admire interest and Emily’s mother. No one hits it out of the ball park, but you can quiet bag a game without home runs, and The Ultimate Gift is a winner.

The Ultimate Gift is a predictable film you somehow want to be predictable. Its PG rating allows for a few collected assure words and tense thematic moments, but this is really a movie the whole family can relish.

From the stout acres of a Texas ranch to the wilds of a South American jungle, Jason’s assumptions about his grandfather, and himself, will never be the same. And even though you’ll most likely guess the film’s ending, it’s the dawdle that matters. We’re taken on an keen one with Jason as he discovers not only the ultimate gift, but what type of a man he’s truly suited of being.

The Ultimate Gift’ is a fun and surprising inspirational gem. Not luminous quite what to inquire, the movie swiftly develops an emotional and animated core. Often amusing, murky, mysterious, and uplifting in different measures, the film pulls out a current bag of tricks. Sort of like the `Willy Wonka’ of spiritual cinema, `The Ultimate Gift’ is more than a “Hallmark” Christian experience.

It all begins after the death of oil tycoon, Red Stevens (James Garner) who has left videotapes for his family. Gathered around the conference table in his lucrative company headquarters, all members wait on pins and needles to view what they will inherit from him. Crassly, the greedy family can’t succor but commiserate over the lack of possessions he’s bequeathed to them. As his custom, Jason (Drew Fuller), his sunless sheep grandson, comes slow to the proceedings, fully expecting nothing, but wanting to design obvious nonetheless. What he gets is a love hunt. If he performs a series of feats for the edification of his board of trustees, he will rep “the ultimate gift”. Heading that board is fellow associate Mr. Hamilton (Bill Cobbs), who anchors the whole deal as a living negotiator. If Jason flubs on any one of the “assignments,” he loses the gift.

A lot of the proceedings depend a titanic deal on Red predicting what Jason will do next during the videotape. It works admirably and there’s enough estimable humor to still out the edges of our disbelief. Events are often unpredictable, and the acting ranges from expedient to genuinely proper. Particularly worthy is Abigail Breslan (Oscar nominated child prodigy from ‘Little Miss Sunshine’) who gives another beautiful performance as Emily, a sick girl with a arresting tongue, but a marvelous heart. Reflecting on God and heaven, she sagely says, “He paints every color of a butterfly with His fingers.”

The movie also brings the welcome return of Brian Dennehy as Gus, his relative from Texas. Some of the funniest parts are taken from his Southern mansion. One scene where he is rudely awakened by an electric cattle prod left me in stitches. Sometimes the relatives become caricatures, but that’s few and far between. At one holiday dinner, an argument ensues and one woman tartly states “Money’s unbiased as green from Manhattan.” The dawdle is wonderfully edited with the last fraction slightly too languorous in places–even if the film needs to discontinuance and deem awhile. With these minor objections out of the map, the movie is wonderfully nourishing for the heart and soul.

Some controversy remains for the spiritual nature of the film. Glancing over some reviews, I found some critics becoming defensive for any satisfactory seize on the movie. Christianity is sprinkled throughout. During work “Gotta Relieve Somebody” plays from Dylan’s Christian era, and a romantic dinner scene “Lord of the Dance” is cleverly piped in with acoustical guitars at a love restaurant. At the hospital, Emily frequents the chapel where Jason tells her the Sacred Heart statue shows Jesus’ originate arms to embrace her. Critics apologetically (or defensively) say that Jesus is only mentioned once in the whole movie. I don’t personally reflect anyone should have to defend a movie for being overtly Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or whatever. “Distress is your teacher,” says Red to Jason on the videotape before going to the tall beyond. This could be said in an Asian movie. ‘The Ultimate Gift’ is overtly Christian, but inclusive. Another objection may approach with the points of wisdom provided at the waste. While I enjoyed the elaboration, some may accumulate the lesson condescending–an unnecessary Sunday school highlighter pen review.

With all my lowered expectations, ‘The Ultimate Gift’ is a surprise. The comedic timing is large, the mystery is fun, and the emotional shuffle is worthwhile. (Based on a current by Jim Stovall.)

I am a foreign language teacher and own strongly that foreign language learning should inaugurate as early as possible. I bought this video for my niece and nephew, ages 5 and 3, because I wanted them to have an immersion experience. Even without any prior knowledge of Spanish, they easily followed the storyline. I own that this is due to the effective exercise of repetition, graphics, animation, and fun songs. My niece and nephew loved watching the puppets and repeating the words, and we all had fun singing the songs as a family. In fact, the adults enjoyed the video (and learned some Spanish, too) as noteworthy as the kids. I highly recommend this video for anyone who wants their children to launch learning Spanish.

I bought this for my 2 year used, who loved it! For a long time she asked to study it over and over every day. It’s entirely in Spanish but it’s sparkling easy to understand what’s being said. It’s very different to hear native speakers speaking stout sentences than single word translations as in some children’s shows. The kids and puppets preserve the video lively. Very tickled with the product.

Approximately nine million American children over 6 years mature are considered obese according to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies. Overweight children are becoming an epidemic. Children are beginning to secure diseases and health problems only previously seen in adults. Ten years ago, it was unheard of a child being diagnosed with type–2 diabetes, now its becoming a regular occurrence. Obesity in children is also being linked to apnea, high cholesterol, liver dieses and asthma.

The quiz is why; why are so many children overweight? There are no obvious answers, each child’s plot is different, and there are many factors and angles to view at. Some claim overweight parents maintain overweight children, while others argue nurture not nature is at fault.

According to the American Obesity Association it is a combination of both; however, some things like the amount of physical activity and eating habits can be changed. These are some of the factors contributing to childhood obesity.

* Lack of Physical Activity. Children employ more time in front of the television, computer and video console and less time playing sports, riding bikes or chasing butterflies. According to an article on MSN Encarta the average child spends 27 hours a week in front of a television.

* bad Eating Habits. Children build bad eating habits by eating high calorie foods while watching TV and eating when they are not hungry.

* Environment. Studies display that children’s exposure at home and their lifestyles may succor and discourage eating habits. These factors may include over exposure to advertising for like a flash food, awful parental examples or socioeconomic state. Low–income families are more likely to consume cheap, unhealthy, processed foods as opposed to healthy, natural foods.

* Parental obesity

* Higher birth weight

* Spending more than eight hours watching TV when 3 years old

* Sleeping less than 10.5 hours per night when 3 years old

This is a relatively fresh epidemic with no simple vaccine. There are no answers about “How to cure child obesity,” only suggestions and guidelines. News broadcasts and dietitians have been talking about the rise in child obesity for years. Many schools are beginning to encouraging active and healthy lifestyles by removing soda and candy machines from hallways and providing USDA favorite school lunches. Tips are generally; invent active lifestyles and healthy eating habits in and out of school.

The USDA proposed a “Prescription for Change: Ten Keys to Promote Healthy Eating in Schools.” These propositions grief students, parents, educators and food service staff. All will be eager in assessing the school’s eating environment; integrate behavior–focused nutrition education from pre–K thru 12th grades; and food sold in addition to school lunches will be from the five major food groups.

There is no like a flash fix to child or adult obesity. Many doctors, nutritionists and dietitians bear this is an epidemic that needs to be addressed at the root—at home and school.
